Defense & Homeland Security StayLaw The Departments of Defense (DOD) and Homeland Security (DHS) are key customers for goods and services, giving rise to thousands of lobbyists in Washington, D.C. StayLaw assists national defense and homeland security contractors in cutting through that crowd to connect with key Capitol Hill and Administration decision makers. We work closely with our clients to help them secure DOD and DHS contracts – and get their contracts fully funded. We also partner with those entering the federal market, helping to establish them as government contractors and position them before the right decision makers. GT has a track record of pairing clients’ good ideas and products with the DOD and DHS requirements – with the end goal invariably being contracts, and the knowledge that everything feasible is being done to focus attention in the right places for each client’s product or service. We currently represent, in various capacities, nearly half of the National Defense Industry Association’s 100 largest contractors. In addition to these large contractors, we also represent hundreds of other companies in this market. In advising such clients, we leverage capabilities and experience from throughout GT, including in the areas of government contracts, governmental affairs, federal marketing, export controls, intellectual property, immigration and compliance, and mergers and acquisitions (e.g., clients acquiring DOD or DHS contractors). Our team includes attorneys and governmental affairs professionals with significant military experience, including former Members of Congress, the former Under Secretary of the Army, General officers and key DOD staffers, including the former Chief of the Congressional Budget Liaison for the Army, as well as former team members from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Other GT professionals bring to bear wide-ranging experience from senior staff positions on key committees or with Congressional Members. In at least two key respects, GT differs from traditional lobbying firms. First, we represent our clients’ interests not only before Congress but also before the Administration. We work extensively and directly with key Administration offices and leaders, including many long-established Pentagon and other relationships within DOD and DHS.
